Demetria Devonne “Demi” Lovato (born August 20, 1992) is an American actress and singer-songwriter. Prior to launching her music career, Lovato starred in the Disney Channel musical television film “Camp Rock,” which premiered in June 2008.
Lovato's duet with Joe Jonas, “This Is Me,” was released as a single from the film's accompanying soundtrack and peaked at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart.
Lovato's debut solo single, “Get Back,” was released in August 2008 and peaked at #43 on the Hot 100. Her debut studio album, “Don't Forget,” was released in September 2008, and entered the Billboard 200 Albums chart at #2. The album spawned two more singles, “La La Land” and the title track. \The album was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Lovato's second studio album, “Here We Go Again,” was released in July 2009. It was preceded by the lead single and title track, which peaked at #15 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200. “Remember December” was released as the album's second and final single, but failed to chart in the U.S.
“Skyscraper,” the first single from her upcoming studio album, was released in July 2011. The song debuted at #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 becoming her highest peaking single on the chart since “This Is Me.”
