Octavio Rivera was born in the Bronx, New York in 1986 is a bachata musician better known by his stage name Toby Love. Love’s style of bachata music combines traditional bachata with urban sounds.
Love got his professional start in music at the age of 16 as a backup singer for the bachata band Aventura. 2006 saw Love pursue a solo career and release his debut album for Sony Records, “Toby Love.” The album peaked at #36 on Billboards’ Heatseekers Albums chart and at #27 on Billboard’s Latin Albums chart. The album also garnered Love a number of nominations at the 2008 Billboard Latin Music Awards, winning for Tropical Airplay Song of the Year and Latin Rap/Hip Hop Album of the Year.
Love’s second solo album, “Toby Love Reloaded” emerged in 2007, and featured many guest artists, including Pitbull, on remixed tracks from his first LP. “Love Is Back” his next album, was released in 2008. It reached #2 on the Billboard Latin Tropical Albums chart and #36 on the Latin Albums chart. "Llorar Lloviendo" and "Amor Primero" were issued as singles.
In 2011 Love released the album, “La Voz De La Juventud” which included the singles, "Te Parece Poco,” Casi Casi" and "Quizás" (featuring Yuridia). The album reached #31 on the Latin Albums chart and #3 on the Latin Tropical Albums chart. The full-length, “Amor Total,” followed in 2013. The #2 "Lejos" and #1 "Todo Mí Amor Eres Tú" hit singles on the Latin Tropical Airplay chart were featured on the album which reached #7 on the Latin Tropical Albums chart.
