Grouplove is an American indie rock band which was formed in 2009 by Hannah Hooper, Christian Zucconi, Sean Gadd (son of singer/songwriter Steve Gadd of U.K. band Stray), Andrew Wessen and Ryan Rabin (son of film composer and former Yes guitarist Trevor Rabin).
Grouplove began when Hooper and Zucconi forged a friendship with the latter three members while attending an artists' residency on the island of Crete. Before returning to their homelands, they began hashing out plans to meet up again and put some of the music they had been working on to tape.
When back in the United States they recorded the material at drummer Rabin's home studio. As a result, their debut self-titled EP was released in 2010. The band has since been touring in the US as the opening act for Florence and the Machine and has several tour dates in the United Kingdom.
A new single, “Itchin on a Photograph,” was released in June 2011. Their full-length debut album “Never Trust a Happy Song” was released in September 2011. It featured the single, “Colours” and reached #173 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart and #4 on the Heatseekers Albums chart.
