MediaNet Digital is the latest to post some aggressive year-over-year gains, though broader questions surround longer-term monetization. MediaNet has smartly chosen to spread its download and streaming functionality to almost every taker through APIs and portable web components, and that is perking gains. Specifically, downloads totaled 200 million in December of 2009, and on-demand streams reached 150 million. The download total represents a 124 percent year-over-year gain.
