Announcing Event Trends – Starting with the 2012 GRAMMY^®s

Today MediaNet is launching a new feature to its music artist trending product: Event Trends. Now get trending ranks within an event. Our trending scores stay the same, but you get more data within the context of a specific event, whether an award show or a music festival. Our first event is the 2012 GRAMMY^®s, stay tuned for the next event. We will be trending artists nominated or performing at events such as:

• The GRAMMY^®s
• The Academy Awards^® (music categories)
• The Academy of Country Music^® Awards (ACM)
• Coachella
• The CMA^® music festival
• The MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs)

MediaNet Launches Trending Product in beta.

As you have probably noticed by now, MediaNet has launched a new product called MediaNet Trending. Trending brings a great sense of “Now” to the relevance of music information. It facilitates user engagement whether in DMCA radio playlists, streaming playlists, or download pages.

Our proprietary Trending technology finds interesting music trends in many verticals like search activity, social activity, and play activity as opposed to simpler trending products out there just monitoring basic social information.

Trending fits with the rest of MediaNet’s product suite and is available to you via our industry leading digital content API.

New Internet Radio reporting added to customer portal

Last week, MediaNet launched a report for MN Open Internet Radio customers. The report provides all nescessary data to prepare their Sound Exchange royalty and activity reports for DMCA services. Data is available for complete months or complete quarters. If you are a ‘Plus’ radio customer it will be available in your customer portal under reports.

Today, at Facebook’s F8 developer conference, Mark Zuckerberg announced the launch of major features to the social networking site including Facebook Music, taking music experience and music discovery to the next level of social interactions. Users will be able to share with their Facebook friends music recommendations and listen in real-time at a short list of music services, including our customers MOG, Turntable, and Songza. We are glad to see their success continue and congratulate them on great and innovative services.
